Here we explain the ticket suppression function, why it's useful and how to activate it.
The new crowdEngage digital ticket comes with a ticket suppression function, which means that the barcode is hidden until a time that the venue see suitable. This means customers can still receive their ticket link to pre-order drinks etc. but can't access the ticket until it is ready.
This is useful for high profile gigs where ticket touts might copy the barcode and sell it on to multiple people.
By using the QR code suppression to only display an hour before the show, it means that pre-show emails could still be sent a few days before without the worry that the ticket could be copied.
Our clients have also asked us to completely suppress tickets for certain groups of ticket holders, such as students. This is useful if it's preferential them to go to the box office to show ID. It is also useful for press and VIP tickets, if you'd like to meet the delegates in person rather before the show.
In order to use this feature, just let us know what tickets you'd like to suppress and if you'd like to turn them on at a specific time or hide them entirely. You can also choose the message that appears over the barcode. Email support@crowdengage.com to set this up!
