Step 1: Finding the right template
The segment builder is there to help build otherwise time-consuming marketing segments that you would like to contact.
This one allows you to contact people who have been buying events that are similar to your upcoming one, but also make sure they don't already have an existing ticket to the upcoming event.
To get started, open the Segment Builder dashboard from the left side menu.
In the Segment Builder find the right template, that allows you to choose ticket holders for events and exclude specific events ticket holders.
Step 2: Choosing the right events
You can choose multiple
Remember that you can choose both multiple events ticket holders, but you can also exclude multiple event ticket holders by searching and keep selecting events. This will then add up all the ticket buyers for all events.
The next step is all about adding the right events. On the top, search for the events that you want to have added to the segment
And below add all the events that you want to be excluded from the segment.
In this template you cannot to say: this event AND that event
There is currently no way to say that a person has had to go to one event and to another, it selects either or, it does not ensure you have been to both
Getting no results
If you are not seeing any results to your query, then first check your event selection and eventually write to support@activitystream.com
We often see test events as well, which will show up in the search results. Make sure you have selected the live event that has all the ticket buyers.
Step 3: Demography
The third step allows you to narrow down on your segment. It is important to mention, that you don't have to select anything in this phase, you can continue to the action phase.
You are though able to narrow down on geography, customer tags, or gender. All of which could be used to further narrow your selection to make sure it hits the right mark
Step 4: Action
In the final step you need to decide if you will send this group an email, export to a social media of your choice, or eventually save this as a segment to use later.
You should also go through the segment summary at this point to ensure that you have selected the right parameters
