How do I add or edit user access?
To get your colleagues and external collaborators (ex. promoters) in on the action, you can invite them to join as users in your Activity Stream account.
Adding new users is only possible for users with the manager role. If you cannot see the button on your navigation menu on the left of your screen, that means you are not a manager user. Contact your Activity Stream system admin to request manager access.
In order to invite a new user:
-
Go to Settings > User Management on the left side navigation menu.
-
Here, you can view your users and invite new ones by pressing on Invite User on the top right of your screen.
-
In the Send Invite popup:a. fill in the name and email of the new user.b. If you have created Roles for your platform, assign a role to this user. By default, they will receive a User role.
-
Click on Send & Close.
-
Notify your user to look out for an email invitation to activate their account in their inbox/spam folders.
If the new user does not receive their invitation:
- Check their email is correct
- Ask them to check their Spam and Trash folders
- Email support@activitystream.com for help with resending the invitation and troubleshooting
Advanced Options (Scoped Users)
- Entity Scope
In this section, you can select entities to which your user will have access to. This could be a performance, production, venue, or performer. The user will only be able to see that which you select manually.- For scoping users, you can select to limit a users access by a particular event, a production, or a particular organizer/promoter or resident arts group (or however this is defined in your organization.)
- Please note you should not click directly on the event/performance title as it would redirect you to its page, click near the title instead.
- Default Dashboard
In this section, you can choose what dashboard will be the home page for users entering the platform. The automatic default dashboard for all users currently is Sales Overview. - Pii (Personally identifiable information)
If you want your user to have access to customer data: tick the Pii box If you want your user to not have access to customer data: leave the Pii box unticked
