Managing Lists
What Are Lists?
Lists are collections of contacts organized by communication channel. While Segments are dynamic, rule-based audience filters that update automatically based on customer behavior, Lists are managed groupings of contacts that you can use for targeted outreach.
Lists work alongside Segments in the Audience section. Use Segments when you want audiences defined by behavior or purchase criteria (e.g., everyone who booked for a specific show). Use Lists when you want to manage opt-in subscriber groups (e.g., your newsletter mailing list).
Accessing Lists
In the left sidebar, expand Audience and click Lists.
The Lists Page
The Lists page displays a table with two columns:
- Name: The name of the list (e.g., Newsletter).
- Channel: The communication channel for this list (e.g., Email, SMS).
Pagination controls appear at the bottom with a rows-per-page selector (default: 50). A visibility toggle icon appears in the top-right corner.
How Lists Relate to Other Features
- Lead Capture forms (under Campaigns > Lead Capture) can be configured to add subscribers directly to a List.
- Email and SMS campaigns (under Campaigns) can target a specific List as their audience.
- Lists complement Segments: Segments are dynamic and rule-based, while Lists provide a managed, channel-specific grouping.
Legacy Note
Lists in Encore Pro correspond to the opt-in management features previously found in Activity Stream. If you managed subscriber lists in Activity Stream, this is where that functionality lives in Encore Pro.
