Optimise SMS Messaging

Here we show you how to optimise your SMS messaging for customer engagement

At crowdEngage we have run the data so you don't have to!
Using these top tips will help optimise your SMS messages to drive customer engagement. Why not give it a try?

  1. Start your messages with the customer’s name
On average, messages that start with the customer name instead of a generic salutation like Hi/Hello/Dear yield a 11% higher CTR

  2. Position your Visit URL early in the message.
Placing the visit URL within the initial 15 words of the text message generally results in a 20% higher CTR compared to when the URL is positioned further

  3. Draft concise messages, ideally between 20-40 words
Messages with a word count of less than 50 words see an increased engagement of 8.5% compared to longer messages

  4. Limit the number of URLs in your message
Featuring a single URL in your message results in an average 22% higher click-through rate (CTR) when compared to messages containing multiple URLs.

  5. Highlight your Your Visit URL on a separate line
Presenting your URL on a dedicated line results leads to a 14% improvement in CTR than when it is embedded within other text.

Here is an example of a message that fits all the criteria:

{{ customer.first_name }}, here are your tickets for {{ event.name }} on {{ instance.friendly_start_date }} at {{ instance.friendly_start_time }}:
